Concertgoers can be hard to please these days. They expect good music, they expect a timely performance, and they expect an enjoyable experience. As a concert production company, you need something that the fans won’t expect – something that will WOW them.
Flutter FETTI has 3 brilliant ideas for concert special effects that impress will an audience night in and night out. These are special effects that produce amazing color and drama, while also being easy to setup and cleanup. The Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, Green Day, Beyonce and so many others have taken advantage of these special effects with great results and now you can too!
1. Streamers from Multi-Barrel Confetti Cannons
Streamers come in all shapes and sizes, but stadium-sized 2” x 40’ streamers are not your standard household ribbon. When shot out of confetti cannons, these awesomely long streamers soar high above and across the entire audience creating a fast-moving, rainbow-like special effect that’s incredible to see.
One of the most popular setups for shooting streamers at concerts is positioning two or four X-6 Double Barrel Wireless Confetti Launchers on the sides of the stage, aimed diagonally into the crowd. When shot simultaneously, the streamers fly 100’ into the air, cross midway and envelope the audience in a spectacular cloak of color!
The 9-Barrel POD Remote Control Confetti Launcher is another great special effect creator because it features nine cannons and a microprocessor for making pre-programmed sequences. Shoot them all at once or shoot off at different sections of the venue at varying times, generating multiple eye-popping moments of color and sound! It’s a great alternative to pyrotechnics, especially when you use metallic streamers whose material shimmers beautifully under venue lights. Products can be shot 85′ high into the air simulating ‘fireworks” as well.
2. Confetti from Continuous Flow Confetti Gerb Launchers
One of the more common, yet exciting special effects is the use of confetti blowers to push giant clouds of confetti high into the sky. The 6” Continuous Flow Confetti Gerb Launcher features dual horns; the top horn shoots out the confetti (at 1 pound per second) and the bottom horn turbo charges the Co2 propelling the confetti to help it climb 100′ into the air. It’s the largest of the confetti blowers and the most impressive too. So when it erupts with confetti, the crowd erupts with cheers!
Gerbs are best used during finales when the show is at its climax. Hook up multiple Gerbs to gain the most coverage and give everyone in the concert venue a delightful deluge of colorful tissue and metallic confetti! Our favorite combination is mixing all white Corkscrews confetti with silver metallic Flutter FETTI. As the Corkscrews dramatically spiral downward, the metallic FETTI flutters, flies and floats through the air. It’s a beautiful upscale special effect and a GUARANTEED crowd pleaser!
3. Confetti & Balloon Drops
Sometimes confetti is best used in tandem with other special effects. Concerts have merged confetti with laser light shows, confetti with smoke machines, and invented many other wild combinations.
One of the most incredible (and unexpected) arrangements is confetti and balloons, as seen at many National political conventions. When dropped from a venue ceiling, the two create a dramatic downward movement that makes it seem like a rainbow is falling from the sky. It lights up the concert venue and lights up the face of everyone in attendance.
